With the mission to protect lands and water on which all life depends, YKAN provides innovative solutions for realizing harmony between nature and humans, through effective management, non-confrontational approaches, and building collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders for a sustainable Indonesia.

Together with YKAN, The Landscape Director oversees a forestry project in Kalimantan, coordinating with stakeholders to protect forests and promote sustainability. They lead strategy implementation, develop tools for sustainable management, and collaborate with policymakers, companies, and communities. They also explore revenue opportunities and lead a team to manage the initiative.

As A Landscape Director leads a forestry landscape initiative in selected landscapes in Kalimantan by working together with key stakeholders. They leads the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for promoting a landscape initiative that sustains and protects the forest and provides climate and biodiversity benefits. The senior position leads and coordinates YKAN initiative in developing models, tools and approaches to promote sustainable landscape management that balance protection and production. They explores, establishes, and maintains collaboration with policy makers, companies (timber license holders, downstream businesses, among others), financial institutions, and local communities. The Landscape Director plays a leading role in exploring and incubating revenue generating ideas or partnership opportunities and facilitating agreements with land managers to advance landscape-scale forest protection. They leads a team, but also work closely across teams within the organization, and partners to manage a forestry landscape initiative in Kalimantan. 

The Landscape Manager will report to Executive Director and is based in Jakarta.

What You’ll Bring:

· Qualifications:  BA/BS degree and 12 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Team Management: Experience designing, implementing, and directing complex or multiple projects of strategic importance, including managing finances, supervising multidisciplinary professionals and coordinating the work of partners while meeting deadlines.Experience working with current trends and practices in relevant discipline(s) and geographic regions. Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.

· Fundraising Plan/strategy & Execution: Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation.

· Tech Savvy: Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies. Experience networking with high level conservation contacts. Experience working with methods and standards of biodiversity information systems and initiatives. Experience conceiving and implementing strategic and creative initiatives. Experience negotiating.

· Engaging with diverse team:  Experience working with cross-functional teams.

· Language:  Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication skills.
