Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Commissioning Engineer with an Electrical bias to support our growing Data Centers.

We are committed is to provide cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Center facilities and are recruiting a Commissioning Engineer - Electrical to join our innovative team. The role will be responsible for ensuring effective test and commissioning of Data Center processes within set timescales, including quality and health & safety management.

What you will deliver?

• Requirements Management (able to interrogate Engineering Schedule, Verification & Validation requirements etc).
• Assist the commissioning engineers and managers with the verification and operation of electrical plant and equipment. This includes liaising with specialist sub-contractors and Equans package managers to follow the specific commissioning process from Level 1 to Level 5.
• Compiling and preparing of commissioning test documentation.
• Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety requirements.
• Attend site commissioning meetings.
• Provide information for Progress Reports.
• Assist the Internal Trades Manager to prepare an inspection and test plans for each element of the works.

Job Brief

Job Overview:
The Senior Commissioning Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Commissioning discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Commissioning discipline. The Senior Commissioning Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. They impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Commissioning team and other related teams and ensure that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Report to the Commissioning Manager and provide support to the Principal Commissioning Engineer in the preparation of home office deliverables
• At the site, the Senior Commissioning Engineer will participate in walk-down inspections, punch listing, and testing including troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical & instrument component issues that can arise on the project
• Work collaboration within the Project team and with the Client to maintain positive relationships

• Required to support the commissioning team with performing any of the following activities as a minimum

• Operate and maintain Manuals development

• Commissioning and Start-up Spares development
• First Fills and Consumables development
• Commissioning, and Start-Up Procedures
• Discipline Equipment system checks and tests

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering
• 8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant
• Requires a good understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in commissioning, completions, and training as well as basic knowledge of other functions, such as construction and operations & maintenance
• Applies understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness
• Preferably possess a degree or diploma or equivalent in engineering
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or oil & gas processing facility
• Prefer 2+ years of previous commissioning and start-up experience in the chemical, refinery, or oil & gas industry
• Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers
• Must have good computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Must have good organizational skills and be adaptable to the needs of various discipline groups
• Must have the ability to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations in a clearly defined, positive, and productive manner
• Willing and able to travel to construction sites on assignments to international sites
• Proficiency in English, Multi-Language skills a plus

Job Qualifications :

a) Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Subsea, or Instrumentation Engineering.

b) 10 years of experience in offshore/subsea oil & gas, with 5 years in SPS commissioning.

c) Experience with commissioning of subsea hardware including XTs, SDUs, UTAs, manifolds, flying leads, and umbilicals.

d) Experience in functional and interface testing between SPS and FPSO topside systems, including Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), Electrical Power Units (EPU), Subsea Control Units (SCU), and Chemical Injection Units (CIU).

e) Experience in Supervise FATs, EFATs, SITs, flushing, pressure testing, leak testing, control function tests, and loop checks in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

f) Experience in Plan commissioning sequences, develop commissioning dossiers, review ITRs, and manage test record documentation to ensure alignment with project milestones and start-up readiness.

g) Experience in Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases — both onshore and offshore.

Job Descripton:

• Assisting Senior Commissioning/Automation Engineer in testing, debugging and operation of PLC systems for Hydroelectric powerplants
• Support of clients in operation of Hydropower plants
• Conduct research or administrative tasks before a commissioning phase
• Service and maintenance works (mechanical & electrical) at Hydropower plants
• Assisting/supervising installation team for Equipment installation
• Liaise with the Manager on all site-related activities.

Requirements:

• Must posses at least Bachelor's degree/Professional degree in electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in the same or related field
• Experienced in PLC Programming and Commissioning
• Strong knowledge in Power engineering/Power plant industry
• Having understanding in Mechanical Engineering including Hydraulics
• Professional English language is mandatory and a good teamwork
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Willingness to extensive traveling and being stations several months in remote sites
• Some experience in the same field will strongly be considered.
