Assist the General Superintendent in the underground (UG) mine training to create and provide technical training program based on client need to ensure the monthly and annual development and production targets are achieved in a safe, effective, efficient and timely manner.
**_Additional Responsibilities:_**
1. Demonstrate behaviors that match company values; follow and apply company Safety Standards and policies and procedures; set the right example; be a role model and coach for employees, instructors, and apprentices so that employees and learners are encouraged to demonstrate the correct behaviors at all times
2. Assist General Superintendent of Mine Training on the planning and implementation of monthly targets, plans and line up (liaise with Underground Operation group) to ensure targets are met in timely manner.
3. Demonstrate competence in the principles and application of competency-based learning; coach colleagues on Mining Methods, UG equipment, skills and Operations, development programs delivered and assessed meet competency-based development standards.
4. Professionally deliver/facilitate Mining Methods, UG equipment, skills and Operations for on and off the job Competency Based Development in field of expertise; coach colleagues in order to meet client development needs and quality standards.
5. Develop and coach national apprentices, employees and instructors in the correct technical procedures & techniques for Mining Methods, UG equipment, skills and Operations in order to assist these learners to achieve the required level of on job competence.
6. Actively monitor on and off job development of apprentices /operators, so that their development takes place according to company policies and procedures.
7. Create on and off job competency-based learning materials and assessment tools for Mining Methods, UG equipment, skills and Operations; coach colleagues so that on job learning programs delivered and assessed, achieve their intended learning outcomes. Work with training and Operation team to develop SOPs related to Mining Methods and Equipment Operations.
8. Respond to client learning and development requirements, provide appropriate technical support and advice in order to meet/exceed client expectations.
9. Develop, mentor and coach apprentices, operators and instructors to maintain and achieve a high level of individual work performance, in order to help learners to develop a thorough and practical understanding of what a quality product/service means.
10. Conduct on job competency assessments and technical work performance evaluations of apprentices, employees and instructors, in order to assist learners to achieve the required level of job competence.
11. Provide an expert technical support service to client related to Mining Methods, Underground Equipment, Skills and Operations, in order to assist clients to problem identification and diagnose challenging technical problems that occur (e.g.: Abutment, wet muck, etc.). The mining methods include but are not limited to; underground mining knowledge, underground mining techniques, underground mining technologies, underground ground support knowledge and understanding as well as underground equipment training.
12. Conduct training and mentoring to increase technology knowledge and exposure to enhance the overall team knowledge (Staff and Non-Staff) to the professional standard, in order to share better knowledge with national employees.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in operation, planning and projects in world class mining operationof which three (3) years has been spent working in a senior supervisory role.
+ Formal Workplace Training and Assessment qualifications (minimum level of a Certificate 4) in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of competency-based learning programs with a minimum of five (5) years directly related educational administration experience.
+ Must have Underground Training knowledge and experience with underground mining technique skills.
+ Must be able to work in underground conditions.
+ Strong supervisory and leadership skill.
+ Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
+ Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
+ Willingness to work in a team environment.
+ Strong analytical thinking skills.
+ Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce

Lead the Flash Furnace, to provide both strategic and tactical leadership in supporting the technical readiness and safe operations of the plant.
**_Additional Responsibilities:_**
1. Process Optimization: Lead and advising the technical team in gathering and analyzing the appropriate data of the various unit processes copper smelting and refining processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality, which includes the material handling/feed preparation circuit, hot metal processes, electro refinery, acid plant, and others within the plant.
2. Quality Control: Ensure the final products meets industry standards and customer specifications by implementing rigorous quality control procedures, including copper cathode, sulfuric acid, final slag, gypsum, and copper tellurium.
3. Troubleshooting: Lead/advise the technical and operations team in resolving technical issues, such as equipment malfunctions or process deviations, to minimize downtime and maintain production. Provide advice to Process Engineers, Operations leadership, Maintenance leadership, and other stakeholders within the organization on root cause analyses and improvement measures.
4. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Research and Development: Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to recommend and implement improvements in the smelting and refining processes. Proactively seek opportunity to establish a sustainable relationship with local education institutions to conduct long-term research, involving Process Engineers and Chemists within the team.
6. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior staff and operators to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
7. Environmental Compliance: Lead the technical team to support site compliance to environmental regulations related to emissions, waste management, and sustainability are adhered to during the smelting and refining processes.
8. Data Analysis: Analyze process data and Conduct experiments to identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost reduction.
9. Talent Development. Focus on upskilling and transferring knowledge to local technical workforce in a systematic manner to ensure sustainable technical support to operations.
10. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Metallurgists, and Maintenance personnel, to achieve production targets and resolve technical challenges. Provide opportunities to team members (Flash Furnace) to contribute and lead projects to improve safe operations.
11. Documentation: Maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation related to the smelting and refining processes for future reference and compliance purposes.
12. Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall plant performance and competitiveness. Provide leadership to process engineers to conduct simulation, surveys, due diligence, concept development of improvement projects. Liaise with Plant Engineering and Corporate Engineering team to proceed concepts to detailed engineering.
13. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
14. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimization, waste reduction, and efficient resource utilization. Provide advice and lead on development of cost control tools and systems.
15. Project Management: Lead or participate in process improvement projects related to equipment upgrades, process modifications, or capacity expansion.
16. Asset Integrity: Lead/advise on measures on maintaining the integrity of the various assets within the process, includes such as Flash Furnaces, Waste Heat Boilers, Converter, Anode Furnace, Casting Wheel, etc.
