About Position
The Communication Specialist will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and impact of YCAB Foundation through effective communication strategies. This position involves developing and implementing communication plans, managing social media platforms, creating engaging content, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the community.
Responsibilities
Production of Communications Deliverables for Programs Implementation
- Collaborate with program teams to gather stories, testimonials, and data to highlight the impact of the organization's work.
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Provide communication collateral for program implementation teams, such as training modules, social media content, and donor reports.
- Prepare regular reports on communication activities and outcomes.
Social Media Management
- Create compelling content for various platforms, including newsletters, press releases, website updates, and social media posts.
- Manage and grow the organization's social media presence across platforms
- Monitor social media trends and engage with followers to foster a sense of community and support.
Media Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage of the organization's initiatives.
- Prepare and distribute press releases and media kits to promote events and achievements.
Event Management
- Organize and participate in events, workshops, and community outreach activities to promote the organization's work.
Requirements
● Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
● Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, preferably in the NGO or nonprofit sector.
● Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
● Experience with graphic design and multimedia production is a plus.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
● Passion for social change and commitment to the mission of YCAB Foundation.
