KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare all basic food items for the menu requested by their supervisor.
  • Must possess advanced knife handling skills.
  • Must be able to work in any section of a kitchen.
  • Must have a good food knowledge and understanding of culinary terms.
  • Must be able to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
  • Must be proficient in effecting completing tasks, work efficiently and productively.
  • Always follow Public Health according to company standards and expectation (referring to US, Anvisa, Shipsan, Canadian, Australian etc.) within their section.
  • Maintain their assigned area in preparation for announced or unannounced United States Public Health type inspection either done by the Food & Beverage Director or the actual inspectors.
  • Reports for duty at assigned times, follows their supervisor's instructions, and ensures that personal appearance, uniform, and personal hygiene are in accordance with the company's rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • A minimum of 4 years in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service and at least 2 years as Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • A culinary school degree is required.
  • Very strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Very strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and people skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing personalized services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.

We are looking for a skilled Junior Cook to prepare meals according to the menu. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and deliver well-prepared meals. They must be adept at navigating the kitchen and proficient in multitasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also essential. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation, allowing us to expand our clientele. Culinary students and graduates can apply for our internship and on-the-job training programs. You must present either an enrollment letter or a diploma.

This is a 12-month employment program in the US under a J1 professional exchange visa. Open to international applicants. Visa sponsorship is provided for qualified candidates.

The U.S.A. J-1 Training Program is a cultural exchange program by the U.S. Department of State that gives students, recent graduates, and young professionals from around the world the opportunity to come to the U.S. and share their culture and ideas with Americans while receiving in-depth Culinary training in the best hotels and resorts throughout the United States for up to 12 months.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Set up workstations with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment


• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)


• Cook food in various utensils or grills


• Check the food while cooking to stir or turn


• Ensure an excellent presentation by dressing the dishes before they are served


• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen


• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly


• Check the quality of ingredients.


• Monitor stock levels and place orders when shortages occur.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:


• Formal culinary education OR experience is required


• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware


• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)


• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures


• Ability to work in a team


• Excellent communication skills and physical condition


• High school diploma or equivalent;


• A diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Kitchen Operation

  2. Ensure all food preparation and processing procedures comply with recipe and presentation standards.

  3. Monitor the smooth operation of the kitchen in all outlets (restaurants, banquets, room service, etc.).

  14. Team Management

  17. Maintain discipline, teamwork, and create a conducive working atmosphere.
  18. Prepare weekly work schedules (shift schedule) for all staffs to ensure operational efficiency. Schedule is to be submitted to and approved by Learning & Resort Operation Manager.
  19. Coordinate with Operations Manager to seek guidance on staff deployment and development.

  20. Administration and Report

  21. Prepare daily reports on the use of ingredients, stock, and kitchen requirements.

  22. Coordinate with Purchasing & Store for food ingredient orders.
  23. Assist in kitchen budget planning and operational cost control.
  24. Prepare food cost summaries for submission to accounting staff

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS


• Already reside in Bali or willing to relocate (a must)


• Local / Indonesian citizenship (a must)


• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field


• Minimum 5 years of experience in resort/hospitality management.


• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and financial management skills.


• Strong, fluent English is a must – our guests come from an international, English-speaking environment.
