About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to join our team at Candi Beach Resort & Spa in Karangasem, Bali. As Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of our resort's laundry services, ensuring our guests receive the high-quality linens and towels they expect. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

1. Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the laundry facility, including scheduling staff, assigning tasks, and monitoring productivity
2. Ensure all linens, towels, and other laundry items are cleaned, pressed, and delivered to guest rooms and other areas of the resort in a timely manner
3. Maintain strict quality control standards, inspecting all laundered items for stains, tears, or other defects
4. Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock
5. Train and supervise laundry staff, providing guidance and feedback to improve performance
6. Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping and Front Office, to ensure seamless coordination of laundry services
7. Implement and enforce safety and hygiene protocols to comply with industry regulations
8. Provide regular reports on laundry operations, including productivity, efficiency, and cost savings

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Laundry Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry
2. Thorough understanding of laundry equipment, chemicals, and best practices for efficient and effective operations
3. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to manage a fast-paced, high-volume laundry facility
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality
5. Ability to effectively train, manage, and motivate a team of laundry staff
6. Proficient in oral and written communication in English
7. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred

The Laundry Supervisor directs and supervises team members on all operations in the department. He / she reports necessary machine repairs, supplies used or required, variations in water temperature, maintains schedules and trains new team members in line with Hilton and the hotel policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?
As the Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Responsible for the operation of the Laundry department during your shift.
• Inspect entire area on productive methods and procedures used.
• Assist guests with urgent laundry requests.
• Ensure that all guests' items are treated carefully to minimize any damages.
• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge on operating all equipment for laundry operations.
• Apply for laundry goods and ensure chemicals etc. are used properly, and in correct quantities, to avoid accidents and to keep costs low and quality high.
• Maintain quality control for in-house linen and uniforms.
• Report promptly faulty equipment to the Laundry Manager and / or Engineering department.
• Ensure guest laundry charges are posted correctly and promptly.
• Confer with assistants and supervisors on production and personnel problems.
• Train team members according to established procedures, disseminate information and assignments, conduct training meetings to discuss problems and future plans.
• Establish records for production standards and training techniques.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere by the hotel's policies and procedures, Hilton code of business conduct and the hotel's team member handbook, security and emergency policies and procedures.

A Laundry Supervisor serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• High School Degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in the same position in a 5-star international branded hotel or comparable industry related experience.
• Good communication, organizational and coordination skills.
• Strong team player.
• Able to maintain excellent relations with team members.
• Able to work under physical and mental pressure.
• Knowledgeable of all areas in the laundry operation such as washing, spotting, starching, dry-cleaning, pressing and laundry machine operation.
• Understand clothing materials and how to handle them.
• Computer literacy preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

Complete inventory of uniforms and linens. Conduct monthly inventory of laundry supplies. Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to manager/supervisor. Train employees on all laundry procedures, including safety procedures and equipment operation. Verify that laundry requests are completed for each department as needed. Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery. Inspect linens and terry for damage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
