Job Description
Spanish-speaking Nanny-Governess – Bali (with International Travel)
Start Date: November 2025
Location: Primarily Bali, with regular travel to Europe and the USA (4–5 months annually)
Term: Long-term, permanent
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Schedule: Weekends full-time and three afternoons during the week (3–7 pm) while in Bali. When travelling abroad, the schedule is five days per week, approximately 40 hours, with flexibility as required.
Accommodation: Live-out while in Bali; live-in provided when travelling abroad with the family.
An international family, returning clients of our agency, is seeking an experienced and engaging Spanish-speaking Nanny-Governess to join them on a long-term basis. The position begins in November 2025 and is primarily based in Bali, with several months each year spent travelling between Europe and the USA.
The primary responsibility will be to support the family's 4-year-old daughter, focusing on her care, play, and early development through a play-based, child-led approach. The family values creativity and imagination, wishing for their daughter's curiosity and emotional awareness to develop naturally through games, stories, art, music, and everyday experiences. A Waldorf-inspired philosophy is particularly appreciated, alongside other alternative methodologies.
The family would also welcome gentle Spanish language learning for both children. Their younger daughter, aged two, is cared for by a full-time nanny; however, the Nanny-Governess may collaborate with her caregiver to weave Spanish into songs, play, and simple daily interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and engaging play for the 4-year-old, ensuring her well-being and happiness.
- Create imaginative, age-appropriate games, arts, and storytelling experiences that support learning through play.
- Introduce Spanish naturally into daily life, primarily with the 4-year-old, and occasionally with the 2-year-old in collaboration with her nanny.
- Encourage independence, curiosity, and emotional awareness through gentle and consistent guidance.
- Organise enriching experiences such as outdoor play, cultural outings, and creative projects aligned with Waldorf-inspired principles.
- Maintain open communication with parents and collaborate with household staff to ensure a harmonious environment.
- Travel with the family, providing continuity of care, play, and language exposure across different settings.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Nanny-Governess in private households, including working with children of similar ages on teaching a foreign language (Spanish), as well as experience working internationally and travelling with families.
- Native-level Spanish speaker with fluent English.
- Warm, playful, and engaging, with excellent communication skills.
- Creative and resourceful, skilled at weaving learning opportunities into everyday play.
- Professional, discreet, and confident in international settings.
- Flexible and enthusiastic about frequent international travel.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join an internationally minded family in a long-term role. Based in Bali, with the chance to travel extensively, the Nanny-Governess will focus on caring for and guiding two young children, primarily the 4-year-old, through play, games, and Spanish language exposure, in line with Waldorf-inspired values. This position combines attentive care, creativity, and cultural learning in a truly global setting.
- Salary Estimate : DOE
- Start Date : 01/11/2025
