Job Role / Job Overview
Analytical and detail-orientated cost analyst in RFQ from Batam factory.
This role will be responsible to support in
MLO (Material, Labour, Overhead) Cost
Breakdown scrutiny comparable to customers Target Price or Market Benchmark price and lead effort to scrub MLO Cost when not meet Target price or Market price. Seek to achieve Target price or Market price quote with reasonable margin to win business.
Directly reports to Engineering Manager
Essential Job Functions
- Able to gather and interpret the MLO costing sheet provided by RFQ team
- Provide detail analysis on MLO breakdown and identify non-competitive items vs market or previous quotes
- Understand the assumptions used in MLO quotes
- Lead and call meetings to scrub MLO costs to meet Target or Market prices
- Propose what changes in MLO/Margin/MOQ/LME/Investment/etc. to meet customers prices/requirements
- When needed, compare Actual MLO vs RFQ MLO costings
- Study competitors MLO vs Volex MLO and identify gap opportunities
- Document analysis, proposal and meeting minutes in emails or reports
- Ensure all reporting is compliant with Group requirements, completed with a high level of integrity and on time.
- Responsible for bringing any costing related issues to management attention and identifying best course of action to resolve them.
- Report data comparison on MLO vs Batam vs other sites vs Competitors vs Market
- Expected to ensure the products made by the company are costed correctly and competitively with key products
Key Qualifications and desirable experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical field, e.g. electrical, electronic, mechanical, hi-tech.
- Background in Costing, RFQ or Pricing working environment will be highly considered.
- Knowledge of Cable, PVC, Terminals, Connectors market costing and good network with suppliers
- Knowledge of Competitors cost structures
- Aptitude to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel especially in complex formulas
- Good analytical skills and able to work in minimum supervision
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Committed and a good team player
- Strong sense of responsibilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- At least 3-5 year(s) of working experience in the same duties and environment is required for this role.
- Good attention to detail and 'can do' attitude.
