Senior Process Engineer, Industrial Engineering (IE)
Role Purpose
- Conceptualize, develop, implement and release production processes during Product Engineering Process (PEP) and Product Transfer Process (PTP) projects within its required quality, costs and timeline.
- Supports New Product Introduction (NPI) function under the Industrial Engineering (IE) SEA organization.
- Supports continuous improvement in production processes within the production organization.
Role Responsibilities
Industrialize new product or transfer current products between locations according to company initiatives (PEP and PTP) – starting from Conceptual to Development & then Implementation phases to ensure that products meet the quality target.
Within PEP/ PTP, responsible for but not limited to End-to-End Process Engineering tasks:
- Plan and manage own budget (working hours), timeline & communicate with Supply Chain project leader
- Discuss the design & production process concept (DFM / DFA)
- Participate actively in Risk Assessment (P-FMEA or similar tools)
- Select the most suitable technology (from Technology supermarket or similar), perform feasibility studies and prepare process qualification plan
- Technical management of reliability test & qualification process with Quality department
- Prepare machine requirements, develop the process parameters, evaluate and qualify different material, create work instructions
- Perform machine, fixture and process releases using standard methodology (MSA, capability studies) and software (e.g. Minitab, qs-STAT)
- Request, consult and release fixtures which impact product / process quality
- Prepare new machine set-up, operation, maintenance procedures
- Perform prototype build, follow-up pilot run and troubleshoot process problems during the build
- Define the critical process parameters, prepare process control plan, and provide training to staff
Responsibilities
Responsible to lead CIF-Projects to solve recurring production issues on demand. Within CIF- projects, responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Analyze data & solve problem
- Run & report the project progress
- Communicate & escalate when any target cannot be met on demand & handle deviation
As a Subject Matter expert, responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Testing, performing trials and qualification of new material, machines and technology under the guidance and leadership of the Technology Development department
- Participate in Global Expert Team meeting representing your department and local production subsidiary
- Local Technology Owner (LTO) for the local production subsidiary to bring up local technical issues to the Global Technology Owner (GTO) and roll out new solutions developed
As the Process Engineering counterpart for Production & BU/IU, responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Summarize, report & do structure problem solving to solve product / process issues during PEP / PTP / CIF projects
- Discuss product design concept during PEP / PTP / CIF project, enforce product-related process design rule
- Leading Customer Application (CA) projects from End-to-End, solving process and build related issues
Lead And Own At Least 3 Production Technologies As Process Engineer During PEP/PTP Project And As a Local Technology Owner. Able To Hands-on And Setting Up Machine Programs And Parameters
- Through-Hole Technology (THT), including Manual-, Wave-, Selective-Soldering, Press-Fit, component forming, etc.
- Fluid Dispensing Technology, including Encapsulation, Plasma Cleaning, Glue Dispensing & Jetting, Conformal Coating / Dip Coating of Lacquer, etc.
- Plastic Welding / Joining Technology, including Ultrasonic Welding, Laser Welding, Heat Staking, etc.
- Laser-related Technology, including Laser Marking, Laser Trimming, etc.
- Moulding Technology, including Injection Molding, Over Molding, Hotmelt Molding, etc.
- Cable Harnessing Technology, including Cable Cutting, Stripping, Crimping, etc.
- Winding Technology, including Toroidal Winding, Bobbin Winding, and Bobbin-less Winding
- PCBA De-panelling, including V-groove de-panelling and Router De-panelling
- Ink Printing, including Tampon Printing, UV Inkjet Printing, etc.
Role Requirements- Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education, with Master's Degree an added advantage
- Business fluent English (written and spoken), as well as good communication skills
- Min. 8 years of industry experience in related field, with proven record working in NPI projects, and at least 5 years in Process Engineering areas
